Every runner should do this race!

I’ve run both the half and the marathon multiple times and I just love it! The beautiful South Downs scenery speaks for itself of course. The race is so well organised. No queues, plenty of toilets, easy parking on nearby streets. Super friendly too! Lovely volunteers and great aid stations. Will definitely be back again next year!

Great event. The streamline "The Tough One" is well justified!

Challenging but really enjoyable

First timer and really enjoyed it. Definitely not a beginners half as the elevation in the heat was pretty brutal but most folk were walking and everyone was super encouraging and friendly. Loved the aid stations and the cakes at the end. Volunteers were great. Only comment is that signage in the last third ish was a little lacking. There was no one in front of me so I had to trust where to turn.

And the end seemed to go on and on! Then realised at the end it was 14 miles. Felt good about it after but it was very tough at the time. The final bit around the field wasn't the best - saw a few people not sure where to go and you can't really see the finish until you get round the corner. But overall, loved it!

Beautiful and brutal

Loved it but it was bloody hard work and nothing like the marathons I’ve done before.
If I do it again I will need to train more on the Downs

Well organised , fun but hard

Thanks to all the volunteers that really made the day

Brutal but beautiful

More directional arrows needed around junctions. Being a runner with less ability I was on my own and had to wait for someone to confirm the route. Thank goodness Michelle who supported the tail end gap helped but in one instance she got confused too. Praise to the PA at finish, that was a big lift crossing the finish around 4 hours and very special to be presented the medal by the mayor. Great event and sure to be back

I had a really great day! It was super tough but everyone was really friendly and kind

Thank so much to everyone who waited for me to finish! And specially to Simon and Abi for helping me get to the end. I really dont think I'd have managed without them.

P.s. I would have loved something salty at the aid stations. I really struggled with all the sweet flavours.

Brilliant, breathtaking and brutal

Just a fabulous run - very well organised, great snacks and kind to the planet! Thank you! X

Marvellous!

The cut offs are tight for the distance and elevation - which makes it more of a challenge. Typically you may have double the leading time. Wonderful event and medal is a proper trophy

Absolutely great run

But with no deferment option if you end up injured.

A great event for a wonderful local charity.

Signage on the last 800M of the 5 mile trail run was severely lacking, I had to ask members of the public where the other runners had gone as it was unclear which direction we were supposed to go which is frustrating. Otherwise the event was absolutely brilliant, shout out to the marshalls and medical team who were the highlights of the event when I needed them.

Hills and heat

I was humled by the terrain and the weather but the support from all the volunteers along the route was simply incredible.

Super scenic tough run but worth it for that feeling as you cross the finish line.

Fab event but could do with a bit more signage. Ive done it before but if I hadn’t I could’ve taken a wrong turn or two.

This was a very well organised event with plenty of marshalls out on route making it nice and easy. The route was brilliant and a nice medal at the end.

Beautiful scenic run with plenty of aid stations and friendly supportive team as well as runners

Hilly route with some steep inclines but the downhill was nice.

I thought it was well run and the route was clearly signposted/marshalled but it helps having someone to follow. It was unfortunate that the car park was already full when we arrived for the 5 miles trail run. I was concerned so got a lift over and was glad I did. Also due to the narrow paths I would have preferred the canicross runners to have their own start time. Some of the dog were amazing responding to their runner's calls of keep left etc but others not so much. It did not spoil my run but I did overtake/ got overtaken by dogs and they can be unpredictable in the direction they choose to go.

Great if you like hills

Absolutely loved it, was supposed to do the marathon but injuries and and then not getting time to train meant I have to change distance, this was very easy to do just a few clicks on my phone and it was all sorted, the event was well organised and nicely signposted and also included free photos (waiting on these to be uploaded) I will definitely be signing up for the marathon next year.
